Newsletter 17 July 2009
Just a short note to keep you in touch with all the happenings at Tabitha Ministries. The numbers at the Hope Centre have increased to 33 resident children. Our latest addition have been twin boys Sipho, Simphiwe and Junior 5 month old little boy.
The twin boys had arrived from an extremely traumatized situation with the mother having died a month previously and the father close to death and mentally affected.
As you can imagine these babies have suffered great trauma in losing both parents (the father died a week after they had been admitted to the centre).

This story has a happy ending the boys have settled down amazingly well the one twin that was unable to walk is know completely mobile and caught up with his brother.
This last week as you may have heard on the news the weather in South Africa has been extremely cold and obviously one of my major concerns is the pitiable plight of the children from Child Headed Households.
It has been wonderful to be able to feed them and blessed them with warm clothes and blankets that had been donated. On Friday every possible warm item of clothing was loaded up in vehicles and personally distributed to some of the most needy families, one heart wrenching story was of a lady who had seen our vehicle from high up in the mountains who cared for 10 children from extended families, they had run down the mountain to meet our vehicle hoping that there would be something for them, it was heartbreaking how she and the children just stood and stared at the food and the blankets saying absolutely nothing, when asked how can we help her she asked if there was anything for them as they were so hungry and cold. I am absolute certain in my heart that the ministry of Jesus is to the widow and orphaned and the destitute. This is the Calling and Commission that Tabitha Ministries has received from Jesus.
On behalf of Tabitha Ministries I would just like to extend my deepest gratitude to each and everyone who assist the ministry in their very generous giving be it food, clothing, money or gifts in kind. For those of you who pray so faithfully for God's provision to the Ministry. I want to just assure you that the sunshine smiles that we receive when a gift is given is beyond imagining
